Live tables — what the broadcast shows and what it does not

A live table is a broadcast from a studio with a real dealer in it. You can see the camera and the card; you cannot see the system that counts the bets — and that is the whole difference between this game and a slot.

01

What is visible and what is not

The camera shows the table, not the settlement
  • Visible: the dealer, the cards or the wheel, the round as it happens.
  • Not visible: the system that takes the bets and settles the wins — that is software on the studio's and the operator's side.
  • Absent: the result-checking mechanism that in-house games sometimes carry. At a table the proof is the picture, not a cryptographic hash.

Tables and bonus wagering

The commonest trap in the small print

Bonus terms usually count bets at live tables at ten per cent, or do not count them at all. That means turnover of “10,000 zł” cleared at blackjack requires a hundred thousand staked — and that a bonus offer is in practice an offer for people playing slots.

Kinds of table

Four you meet everywhere

Roulettethe housechance alone
Blackjackthe housechance and the player's decisions
Baccaratthe housechance alone
Poker at the tableother playersskill and chance

The last row is the only one where the opponent is not the house — and therefore the only one with an entirely different kind of risk.

The other kinds of game

  • Slots — a catalogue bought in from studios, and what can be checked about it.
  • Plinko — an in-house game with a result-checking mechanism.
  • The games chapter — three kinds side by side in one table.
